SLCPD, FBI request public's help in shooting investigation


March 26, 2012 - The FBI and the Salt Lake City Police Department are requesting the public’s help in locating Joseph H. Medina.  Medina is a person of interest in a drive by shooting that occurred in Salt Lake City, Utah on Friday night, March 23, 2012.  The FBI Safe Streets Task Force, which is a collaboration of multiple law enforcement agencies, has been investigating the incident since it occurred and is asking for the public’s help in locating Medina.  Anyone with information on Medina’s whereabouts is asked to call the FBI Salt Lake City Division at (801) 579-1400 or the Salt Lake City Police Department at (801) 799-3000.  The public can also text a tip to Salt Lake City PD at CRIMES (274637). Start the text with the keyword “TIPSLCPD”. The public is reminded not to approach Medina, and instead contact law enforcement. Joseph Medina is described as a Hispanic male, 5'9", 195 pounds, 25 years old, with tattoos on his face, neck, chest and arms.  As a reminder, tipsters can remain anonymous.
